Hopefully everyone has had a fantastic break and is looking forward to returning tomorrow, refreshed and raring to go. Remember you need to wear full winter uniform, including your blazer. Winter sports trials will continue tomorrow after school so ensure you have everything you need.

Term Two is going to be a fantastic term - remember you get out of life what you put in!

Wow, this term is racing by. Good luck to boys traveling to Christchurch tomorrow - what a privilege! Play hard, have fun and represent yourselves, your family and our school well. A couple of reminders:
Week 8: Mrs Cameron's last week at Hereworth - be sure to say good bye and wish her well! Also:
Tuesday - Grandparents Morning - have you invited your grandparent - or significant older 'friend'? Please do so...
Wednesday - Wellesley arrive to play 1st and 2nd XI Cricket, 1st  Tennis VIII and Softball teams on Thursday - many thanks to those who have offered to billet.
Friday- Hereworth In Action Afternoon - all boys at school until 4pm. Can you think of anyone you know who would be interested in coming to have a look - there is nothing to be lost by inviting them!

It was great to have Karl Wixon come in to speak to the Year 7 and 8 group this morning, in preparation for the boys' preparing and presenting their pepeha.

A pepeha is about identifying yourself.
A mihi is a greeting

Another key concept looked at:Turangawaewae:
Turanga - place
Waewae - feet
"A place to stand" - feeling like you are respected, you belong, you are confident.
