Those who do not have lead roles are to be Ancestors, i.e Ghosts of people who have died. On the year 7 and 8 BLOG there are many ideas if you look under the production notices.
The boys can either choose to be the deceased Ancestor of someone or just be very “Ghostly”.
Old worn out and ripped clothing as well as wigs and beards can be worn also as long as you can move easily in them. WHITE, GREY AND CREAM colours only please.

e would like you to take ownership of your own costume this year- see what you can find at home, friends, Op shops, Save mart etc.

Put your costume in a bag with your name on it and the Character that you are playing written on it also along with a coat hanger. There will be helpers there to check your costumes and to answer questions.

Auditions
for the ancestors will take place during the school day.
If you are
successful in being offered a role, it is expected that you will spend some
time in the holidays learning your lines and becoming familiar with the
music. A CD and script will be given to
those boys with principal roles.
You do need
to be available for extra weekend rehearsals.
Possible dates are Aug 30 &31, Sep 5 & 6, Sep 12 & 13. Cast required will be notified.
September 13 12.00 to 5.00 is a compulsory final rehearsal
for all year 7 and 8 boys.
Performances are in the last week of
term and begin Monday 14 September. Final dates and times for that week to be
confirmed.
Synopsis
Morticia and Gomez Addams want to
continue living amongst death, pain and suffering, the way they always have.
But then there is a change in plans. Their eldest child, Wednesday, has fallen
in love with a strange boy, Lucas Beinekes. To the Addams, strange is normal.
Happy is Sad. The Addams believe life revolves around death. To Morticia and
Gomez’s own complexity, they invite Wednesday’s new boyfriend’s family to their
home. Many strange things happen the night that the Beinekes come to visit.
When you come for your audition
bring a snack, drink, game to play. You
may have a little while to wait.
If recalls are required these
will hopefully take place on the second Saturday afternoon.
