KK Marffy is coming in next week to work with us on our tiles! Have you got your tile ready? Is it drawn on paper ready to be transfered to the tile?
Continuing with our korowai. Bring in any items you need for this eg feathers that you collected from the farm in your holidays. Last lessons on this.
We are then going to be designing and making our tiles with KK Marfi later on in the year so that they can be displayed in the school.
Keep being creative over the holidays! I will keep you posted as to what we are going to be up to next term!

The Addams Family Art Competition
Design a poster for our production.
Design a poster on a4 sized paper.
It may include the characters, macabre and morbid pictures and lettering.
All drawings must be your own work. You can use the computer for lettering.
Must be handed in with your name and class on the back by 2.57pm Friday 14th August to Miss Munro.
There will be a prize for the winning Art piece.
It will be used for the publicity of our production
in the posters and programs.

Happy Holidays boys! Keep being creative. You don't have to be on your ipad or PlayStation all holidays. Get creating with paint, pencils, pens or 3D art. Use the internet to help you get started with your ideas. I look forward to seeing what you have made once you have returned after you break!
Aboriginal art work
This is our next little piece of work that we will focus on before the holidays and our korowai.
Korowai update
I have been in touch with some of the local museums and we are organising a visit so that we can look at some korowai. I am wanting to do a visit during our class time. Do you have a parent that would like to come along and transport some of our class members? We have the school vans, but we need another vehicle to transport all of the students. Do you have a parent that could help?
Our next art project we will be looking at Korowai (maori cloaks). We will look at traditional and contemporary designs. What resources do you have access to? Do you have any feather at home or someone who is going duck shooting this weekend?
I cannot emphasize enough about research
and printing out the correct picture that will help you with your ANZAC painting.
- Have you researched what the medals and their ribbons looked like from WW1?
- What is the shape and colour of the hats that were worn and their badges. You can't just make these up, that is why you must complete your accurate research! Bring in your picture and lettering to ensure it looks 110%.
Reminder!
Print your lettering for your ANZAC picture before class! You need to complete this so you can complete your painting. We are already looking at our next project.
Year 7 Art
We are well into our 'Conflict' ANZAC art paintings on plywood. Remember you need to print any lettering needed so that you can transfer onto your print.
